Film Photography

Many of the photos in the feature stories were shot on film.  Boulder Viewfinder is a blog that features some of the best photography in Colorado.  And we lean heavily on photographers who shoot film as well as digital.  Why?  Because there is a difference, in the way the photographers work, and the way the photographs look.  Long live film!

The organic nature of film is compelling, beautiful. I have nothing against digital photography…I love it. I shoot on everything from an iPhone to a DSLR … from a Canon A-1 to “toy” cameras like the Holga and Diana … a couple Canonets, a good old Pentax K-1000 … Kodak “folders” … the list goes on. Photography is an idea, a concept, a philosophy, an art; a camera is a box you collect them in.
